Henrietta Independent School District Names Jay Jones as New Athletic Director and Head Football Coach
Henrietta Independent School District is excited to announce the appointment of Jay Jones as the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the Bearcats' athletic program.
Jones joins Henrietta ISD from Frisco High School, where he served as the Offensive Coordinator, Assistant Head Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator. His responsibilities included overseeing all offensive operations, ensuring vertical alignment from 7th to 12th grade within the football program, and managing the recruitment website and list.
Prior to his time at Frisco High School, Jones made significant contributions to the football programs at McKinney Boyd High School, Coppell High School, Wylie East High School, Wylie High School, and Van Alstyne High School.
Jones played high school football at Texas powerhouse Allen High, and competed collegiately at Southeastern Oklahoma State University for four years, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
Superintendent of Schools Jaime Clark welcomed Jones to Henrietta ISD, saying, "We are thrilled to have Jay Jones join our team as the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. His extensive coaching experience, dedication to player development, and leadership skills make him an excellent fit for our school community. We look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly have on our athletic programs and the lives of our student-athletes."
Coach Jones and his wife of twenty-five years Stephanie are the parents of Trinity and Jagger. Known not only for his coaching ability but also for his reputation as an outstanding teacher and leader, Coach Jones brings a winning mentality and a commitment to the overall development of student-athletes to Henrietta ISD. The Lady Cats rocked the Regional Meet! Allayna Fehr and Sarah Chitwood secured 4th place in their divisions, showcasing their grit and skill. Coach Tiller is beaming with pride for these amazing athletes and their stellar season.
Breaking news! Jalee Tiller is gearing up for a triumphant comeback at the State Powerlifting meet! Dominating her division at Regionals, she clinched 1st place and also won: Most Outstanding Bench Press, Most Outstanding Deadlift, and Overall Most Outstanding Lifter! WTG, Jalee!
First place and advancing to state! Natalie Romines competed at the FCCLA Region II Conference in the category of Teach or Train with a project on Instilling Social and Emotional Skills in Early Elementary.
