4. Progress Update
a. Emergency Communication
1. New handheld radios (bus drivers, staff)
2. Good Cause Exemption – Guardians (policy and increase)
3.  Final Emergency Operations plan was submitted
 b. Exterior doors- HHS and HJH were audited by TEA (no deficiencies)
- Keyless entry completed
   c.. Lighting Fixed/Replaced - constant
d. Survey to staff about safety training and safe facilities
i. Crisis and threat assessment teams are established
j.  Grant update – Chief Nash applied for 3 grants
k. Chief Nash completed evacuation plan for stadium

5. Upcoming Projects
a. Ground breaking on new High School
b. Continue to work through repairs to be compliant with state requirements
c.  Work towards having a full-scale reunification drill
d.  sponsor another ALERRT Training for remaining deputies of CCSO
e.  Conduct Summer training exercises with all ALERRT trained officers at HISD campuses.
g.  finalize athletic facilities evacuation map/routes

6. Updates to TEA School Safety
a. HB 3 -
I. Guardian training for DPS mandate when new ones come on
          ii. Silent panic alert requirement
         iii. Webinars with TEA about grants and HB 3

7. Designate district personnel to be trained in FEMA’s Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
a. Superintendent, Chief Learning Officer, Principals, Assistant Principals, School Resource Officer, Technology Director, Technology Assistant, Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, HISD Safety and Security Officer, Director of Food Service, Nurse, Counselors

b. All of the people listed above will need to complete the ICS 100 and IS-700 for now and others in the future.

8. Safety and Security Committee Trainings
a. Psychological First Aid [TEC 37.108(f)(6)(i)] - https://learn.nctsn.org/enrol/index.php?id=596; set up an account and complete the 5 hour interactive course.
b. TxSSC’s EOP and School Safety Audit trainings - https://sslp.txssc.txstate.edu/; set up an account, and complete the Multi-Hazard EOP Development Series:  Introductory training and the School Safety Audit training.
c. Texas Open Meetings - https://texasattorneygeneral.gov/open-government/governmental-bodies/pia-and-oma-training-resources/open-meetings-act-training - scroll to the bottom and watch the video
d. Print certificates after completing these trainings and email them to Kenny.Nash@henrietta-isd.net.
